This is a good quality, all metal, easy to assemble and disassemble if desired tamper.The weight on this will be perfect for me. I’m smaller so wouldn’t do well with heavy iron or steel ones but this has enough weight to be effective in tamping to level sand while not giving me more of a workout than I would get at the gym. It has a nice smooth plate so this will be extremely handy when I’m leveling the area for laying new pavers for my patio and walkways.I’ve ordered so many tools that the handles are segmented like this one which I do like for storage and also convenient for different positions – if I’m working on my knees or sitting on a cart rather than standing or even if grandkids want to help. These segments have the screw ends integrated into them so each segment is one piece unlike the tools I’ve ordered that have metal segments but plastic screw ends. This will last much longer and hold better.This can be entirely assembled in approximately 2-3minutes with no other tools required since they do include the little wrench.I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to tamp down sand or dirt for patio or walkway installation.
